Doc. Anthony Miller, a physicist, and an engineer, with him Doc. Stephen Strange who had the same expertise as Doc. Anthony Miller. They were transported to Area 51 which was a secret military facility, they were brought there to work on a project.…
1. a. My data demonstrated the law of conservation of mass in part 5 of the experiment, dissolving sugar in water. The law of conservation mass states that matter cannot be created or destroyed by can enter or leave the system. The system’s change in mass was 0.00 grams, resulting in support of this statement.…
There may have been errors in the lab that may have affected the results of the lab. There may have been mistakes: a person may have not measured the substances correctly while retrieving the liquids in the graduated cylinder, or not have been watching the conductivity probe while the group was measuring the electrolyte solution. Along with these, there is also the issue of timing the testing incorrectly. Adding onto this, there may have been a slight spill where the accurate amount of the substance being used was not completely added into the water for testing.…
Nettie Stauts January 26, 2018 CDT-2413 Module 1 Lab Parents Perspective: The parents were apprehensive, but eager, entering their son Luke in a child care program. They were getting early intervention home-centered services in which Luke had progressed with assistance from his therapist and babysitter. He lacked social developmental skills and they heard about inclusion although unfamiliar with the concept. They were adapted interacting with Luke through gestures and augmentative communication devices yet anxious about his communication in the classroom.…
2. The splitting of water during the light reactions of photosynthesis in Photosystem II produces oxygen that releases into the air as carbon dioxide. The oxygen from this is used in glycolysis which is the first stage of cellular respiration as it combines oxygen and glucose. 3. Oxygen is a by-product of photosynthesis which is used as a final electron acceptor in aerobic respiration in cellular respiration.…
The process will use two molecules of ATP in the following processes: Phosphorylation of glucose to glucose-6-phosphate uses one molecule of ATP. Phosphorylation of fructose-6-phosphate to fructose-1,6-bisphosphate uses on molecule of ATP. Because the process will only stop at the glycolytic pathway, the following amount of ATPs will be produced at the energy payoff phase of glycolysis: 2 molecules of NADH are produced in the reaction involving oxidation of glyceraldehyde phosphate to 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate. The 2 molecules of NADH will enter the electron transfer chain reaction to produce 6 ATP.…
They absorb blue and red light. During the Light Reactions, electrons absorb energy and water molecules are broken down. The process of breaking down water molecules is called photolysis. In the dark reactions, glucose is made. Carbon dioxide and ribulose bisphosphate, which is also called RuBP, unite to form rubisco, which then splits to make two phosphoglyceric acid molecules, the phosphoglyceric acid is sometimes called PGA.…
This process is carried out in chlorophyll, a green pigment present in plants, some bacteria and some prostists4. Photosynthesis occurs in two stages, a light-dependent process (light reactions) and a light-independent process (dark reactions). During the light reactions, electrons in chlorophyll a are excited to a higher energy state by sunlight. The energy from the sunlight is converted to ATP and NADH, water is split releasing oxygen as a by-product and the ATP and NADH are used during the dark reaction to make C-C bonds4. During the light-dependent process, an important metabolic pathway occurs known as photophosphorylation occurs whereby energy is converted from a light-excited electron into the pyrophosphate bond of an ADP molecule4.…
Methods: To start this experiment place four seeds in four separate petri dishes with a damp paper towel. Once the seed germinates and the plant has begun to sprout, move the seeds to four separate pots, and add soil. Once the plants have begun to sprout take the measurement of each plant and record your data for day zero. Next, take three glass containers of greatly varying volumes (41,4185cm3, 2,250cm3, and 602cm3 were used). Before the plants are placed underneath these containers, give 15ml of water to each plant.…
“Classifying Chemical Reactions - Lab Report” I - Introduction - Chemistry is the study of the composition, structure, properties and change of matter. In chemistry, chemical and physical changes are used to help scientists understand how different substances react given various circumstances. A chemical change is any change resulting in the formation of a new chemical substance(s). A physical property is any change that does not involve the chemical makeup of a substance at all. In total there are five (5) chemical reactions.…
During the second step, the same 6-carbon from step 1 is converted into 3-carbon molecules, glycerol hydrate (g3p). G3p is then oxidized and each receives phosphate. In step 4 the phosphate groups are…
Stars have been mystery for quite a while in history, but Bethe's work made certain conclusions about the nuclear reactions that are possible in star, and how much energy comes from these reactions. The main goal is to measure which reactions are favored to accurately predict how stars emit energy. Also it must be proven that heavy elements are not likely to be formed by calculating probabilities of Nuclear reaction based on favored energy. The most favorable reactions in stars include the fusion of He4 and the carbon nitrogen cycle, which both are elaborated. These processes vary in percentage from star type but occur in every type of main sequence star.…
In this lab, we carried out a variety of reactions using different chemicals and metals. A chemical reaction is when the chemical state of the substance you are testing rearranges its ionic and molecular structure. One of the reactions we experienced was single replacement, this consists of one ion switching places with another ion to form a new compound. Another reaction we saw was double replacement. In this reaction, two compounds ions are switched to form two new compounds.…
A chemical reaction is a process in which one or more substances, which are the reactants, are converted to one or more different substances, which are the products. The substances in a chemical reaction are either chemical elements or compounds. There are different observations that indicate a chemical reaction has taken place. Formation of precipitate, which is a solid formed in a chemical reaction. Precipitate can take place when solutions containing ionic compounds are mixed and an insoluble product forms.…
Introduction Photosynthesis is the process in which light energy is converted into chemical energy in plants and other organisms (Reece, 2011). Photosynthesis is a redox reaction where carbon dioxide is reduced to sugar (glucose) and water is oxidized to oxygen (Reece, 2011). The reaction that occurs during photosynthesis is shown through the empirical equation CO2 + H2O → (CH2O)N + O2 (Stegenga, 2015). Photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplasts of plant cells, specifically within the thylakoid and the stroma (Stegenga, 2015).…
