After a year of taking science courses, I knew I was not going to be able to commit to becoming a pediatrician. As much as I enjoy helping others, I knew there were other careers, where I can help others. During my sophomore year I decided to take some Criminal Justice classes to test it out. To my surprise I began taking an interest in these courses. After two weeks, I decided to change my major to Social Relations with a concentration in Criminal Justice. From my sophomore year through my senor year of undergraduate studies, I found my self engaging and participating in class lectures. I even notice an improvement in my public speaking, While I was working in the student Activities Center as a student receptionist. One of my supervisors brought to my attention a summer law program that was taking place for two weeks at Widener University School of Law. I decided I wanted to attend , since I planned on going to law school in the near future. While applying I notice the deadline was quickly approaching, so I asked my supervisor and one of my professors for a letter of recommendations. After submitting my transcript, personal statement and letter of recommendation, I received an email saying I was accepted to the Jurist Academy two week summer law program Prior to beginning the summer law program. My day began at 7:30 in the morning, and didn’t end until 7:30 in the evening. During these two weeks I took three law school courses Property Law, Constitutional Law and Criminal legal and Writing. The professors worked me so hard I started having doubts. On the Monday of the second week of the summer law program, the criminal law and legal writing professor announced we were going to be making argument on the last day of the program. There were going to be two sides prosecution and defense. I believe the name of the case was Murat vs. Commonwealth of Camelot. The Murat vs. Commonwealth Camelot case is a case on a gentleman, who goes by the name of Jack Murat. Mr. Murat is being charges with the possession of crack cocaine. The night before present our argument each student was assigned either prosecution or defense. After being assigned each student will make an argument weather Jack Murat was guilty or not guilty Unfortunately I was assigned to prosecution. The night before we presented our arguments professor had us practice our argument in front of our peers , so we can get critiqued. I was really nervous , but I took a deep breath and presented my argument. After practicing presenting our arguments. Every student went back to their rooms The day was finally here.
