Delgaldo was a few minutes late for her session. Ms. Delgaldo appeared to be calm and well-mannered. The goal of the session is to educate the client. The clinician discussed values, ethics, and integrity. The clinician also explained the “Five cornerstones to ethical behavior”. The clinician discussed the details of the client’s arrest. Ms. Delglado demonstrated understand about what was discussed.
Ms. Delgaldo stated that before she was arrested she left the makeup in the bathroom. Ms. Delgaldo stated that she did not walk out if the store. Ms. Delgaldo stated that she did not understand why she had to be arrested because she did not walk out of the store with the makeup. Ms. Delgaldo stated that she began to feel bad about taking the makeup before she walked out of the store.
The clinician discussed the “Five steps of granting the gift of forgiveness”. Ms. Delgaldo responded positively to the information presented. The clinician applied the information to the arrest. The clinician determined that Ms. Delgaldo is at the “consider” step of forgiveness. The clinician gave her homework. Delgaldo demonstrated understanding and completed the “My Behavior” worksheet. The clinician also reviewed cases of ethics. Ms. Delgaldo seemed to demonstrate understanding by explaining the reason why a case was ethical or unethical. In the next session, the clinician will support Ms. Delgaldo address her feelings of guilt.
Ms. Delgaldo was on time for her session. Ms. Delgaldo seems to be calm and relaxed at the beginning of the session. The clinician reviewed forgiveness and the steps to forgive. Ms. Delgaldo stated that she has began to consider the security guard and the other individuals’ perspective. She stated that she understood that they were just doing their job. Ms. Delgaldo stated that she felt that she was on the “work” stage of forgiveness.
The clinician and Ms. Delgaldo did a role play of when she talked to the security guard. This gave the clinician a better understanding of the situation. The clinician also did a role play with the client about the individual that reported her. Ms. Delgaldo seemed to demonstrate understanding and gained awareness of the other individual’s perspective. The clinician also did a role play with the client as if she was talking to her past self. Ms. Delgaldo seems to be more self- aware and views the Values Clarification Program as a learning
