I’m proud to say that I have a music education. My music education has taught me more than any academic class has in high school. Music has taught me to perseverance. Perseverance will take me far in life. Music education has created the drive and that created my work ethic. My work ethic distinguishes me from many students. Music taught me never to settle for just okay, that I must accept only the best. Music has allowed me to be one of the top five students in my class at my high school. Music education taught me what dedication actually means. I have spent seven year practicing (for countless hours) and preforming the French horn. I have stayed with music performance knowing that in the end for my last concert that I will have for seven years dedicated my time and energy to do something that has created a better me. Music education taught me to finish what I start and that is a lesson for everyone to learn from. The dedication I learned from performing for seven years is dedication that is desperately need in the current day. Music for all music students it provides a stable environment. Music gave me a stable environment when one was not available to me after my house fire. Music provided me with great solace; it was the only thing that could. Music provided the only thing that no other class could provide. A family. It is true when students say band is a family. It is a family that is created with you as journey through school. It is the only family that gets an exhilarating feeling after a performance. It is the only thing at school that gives an exhilarating feeling, and it is music education. The most important music came from my band program. My music education solely came from that program. The education I learned in band will continue to provide me with knowledge for the rest of my life. It is not only the musical things that I learned. My directors always pushed me to be more than I could be, making me
