Memories pop into my head of plays in games, that keep me going when conditioning, lifting, and practicing are not so glorious. Last year, during a big game against Potomac, we went into overtime. I was slashed in the rib by a defender earlier in the game and was having trouble breathing, but I wanted to go back in. After a long debate with the trainer, I was allowed back in the game where I ripped a shot far out that went in, leading our team to victory. That feeling of persevering and winning even when times get hard are what drives my passion in lacrosse. It is those moments that make all of the pain and time worth it. Although less exciting, another example of when my passion for lacrosse led me to success was in my college search in the fall of my sophomore year. I was trying to get used to school starting up and the increase of work for sophomore year, but I had to fly to a different school every weekend because I was given deadlines to verbally commit to a college. There were lots of tears and events missed (I will never forget having to miss my field hockey game against Visitation, or the Blue Gold Friday night football game.) However, I gradually learned that some passions simply are more important than others. I learned that in order to be a great lacrosse player, I would have to set my priorities straight, and do that with passion, so I embraced
