I found writing to be enjoyable in my youth and even as far as my late teen years. It is common for me to go beyond the writing requirements for the assignments. Of course, this has its downfalls as well. I am constantly learning to stay within the required length of the papers and learn to make better use of my words to get my point across. This is a very important skill that my mother has pressed upon me since I was a child. She always said, “No one will take you seriously if you cannot speak or write proper English.” By no means do I consider myself perfect, but I strive to do my best and learn from my mistakes. Rarely do I use abbreviations or text slang, as the usage often perplexes me. My text messages are usually too large to send in one segment, as I tend to write them as long, formal emails. One weakness that I do try to work on is to lessen the formal feel of my writing. Many times, my writing comes off as too scientific or dry. Further work is needed to elaborate on my points made, such as using an increase of supporting sentences, and to expand on the use descriptive wording without sounding like a
