Build the management-research question hierarchy, through the investigative questions stage. Then compare your list with the measurement questions asked.
The management-research question hierarchy is a tool utilized by researchers in order to navigate through the research process to address a basic, management dilemma. The steps of this hierarchy are as follows: (1) management dilemma, (2) management question, (3) research questions, (4) investigative questions, (5) measurement questions, and (6) management decision. Through this process, researchers can assess the management dilemma and come to conclusions about what they should do to solve it. The actual research the NCRCC case study shows are answers to survey questions which seems to give insight on how NCRCC can assess and overcome their management dilemmas. The NCRCC surveys had a fairly high rate of return, netted usable surveys, and gave data at a high confidence level. Such high response to these survey questions seems to be able to be generalized as a sample of the population. Ziniel (2008) recognize the importance of gathering such a sample by stating that “[s]ample surveys are an important source of information about the state of society and people’s lives. Moreover, they provide an efficient way to identify and monitor trends over time….” (p.1). The questions asked on and the results of the NCRCC case study survey seemed to match questions this researcher …show more content…
A poorly defined management question will misdirect research efforts” (p. 79). It is imperative that NCRCC displayed results related to their management dilemmas and questions. Gelling (2015) states that “[r]esearch should be conducted in a systematic manner, allowing the researcher to progress from a general idea or clinical problem to scientifically rigorous research findings that enable new developments….” (p. 44). Based on the survey results and high response rates, it seems like the survey presented a plethora of appropriate questions that appeared to answer how NCRCC can expand its membership and improve member satisfaction. As with all research measurement tools and questions, there are always questions that seem to end up being obsolete. However, overall, the measurement questions of the NCRCC survey conducted by the McMahon Group seems to provides insight in how to make improvements to the golf course and country
