Listening to music allows for an adolescence to relate their own life to those of others and see that they are not the only one dealing with the same form of a problem. “… rock music videos almost always portray antisocial behavior in a positive light, making the behaviors seem desirable and common place” (C. Hansen, R. Hansen 358). Nonviolent antisocial behaviors that are commonly portrayed in the videos included the following but not limited to: rebellion against both parents and lawful authority, drunkenness, promiscuity, derogation and devaluation of women, and work ethic and family values (C. Hansen, R. Hansen 357). Watching the music video caused an increase in hostility, sadness, and tension. Also there was found to be a reduction in caring, relaxation, mental clarity, and vigor (McCraty et
