In order for a neighborhood to start a watch program, they have to be noted as having credibility by the police station near them. By talking to the police, they are able to further provide the individual starting the program in their area with information needed to use the program. “Hold regular meetings to help residents get to know each other and to decide upon program strategies and activities” (“Neighborhood Watch”). This will further allow trust to be built within the neighborhood between neighbors, along with providing the residents an opportunity to provide roles, which shall be carried on throughout the program. Such roles include leaders, co-captains, and window watchers, which are those who do not leave the house regularly who can keep a watchful eye on the neighborhood. The other group of individuals that use the neighborhood watch program are the police. The police stations keep in contact with those in charge of neighborhood watch in their community, as explained before police inform the community members on how to efficiently integrate this program into their area. Police stations also greatly benefit from the program by having the app, with the app police officers are able to receive on the spot notifications on crime the community members believe is being committed in the area. Having explained the importance of Neighborhood watch and how it has changed our society for the better. How the program is used, along with who uses it and how the main individuals who benefit from the N.W. program are the citizens. The program provides the citizens with the feeling of security and safety, even if crime rates do not lower a drastic amount. Overall the N.W.
