I. Attention/Introduction
A. Attention getter: How much do you typically spend on daily necessities? As college students today, we struggle or have limited income. We rarely have the time to work. Yet, we still need our daily necessities.

Background: Coupons were first created by the cofounder of Coca-Cola. The coupons, which were hand written, was for a free glass of soda. According to an article from thebalance.com, "Only a small percentage of shoppers (about one percent) redeem coupons. U.S. Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) marketers reportedly distributed coupons valued at $470 billion for products used daily like food, beverages, clothing, tobacco, and household items. The average coupon had a face value of $1.54. Only $4.6 billion coupons were redeemed. Coupons valued at $465 billion went unused."
C. Establish Credibility: I first started couponing 6 years ago when my husband and I bought our first home. With all the expenses we had, I wanted to have money saved in case of an emergency. I have a friend who coupons. She would frequently talk about how much money she saved on household products and personal care products and that I should start couponing. These items will probably last you about two months. If you were to use coupons on the exact same items, along with sales, you will only be paying an additional $0.96 for twice the amount.
1. Positive - Sometimes you can even get products for free; or even better, get overages from your purchases. For example, this week, at Target when you purchase two CoverGirl Outlast Lipstick for $3.99 each, and combine a 25% off from Target's app along with a $6/2 CoverGirl Products printable coupon, the final cost to you will be $0.
III. Action/Conclusion
