The goal of physical therapy is to get an athlete back to the point where he or she can perform normal tasks without difficulty, pain, or risk. The therapist uses exercises and rehabilitation to strengthen an athletes muscles, improve flexibility, and add stability to avoid future injuries. Some say that the therapy does not necessarily help the athlete, but hurts them even more because it is a long process and puts them in more pain. Many people who go through experiences with physical therapists do not get healthier and sometimes go through even more pain compared to when the injury happened. This may be the case because there are therapists who do not know how to treat all injuries correctly and in the proper way.
