These physical traits can be hair and skin color, among others. While the word race is just a
social concept that differentiates the human species in groups by their looks, racism is an
ideology that states that there is a link between such specifics groups of people, and what they
can achieve or how they behave. Not only that, but a hierarchical system is indirectly created in
which these groups are ordered in levels of superiority, where the higher ones –superiors-
dominate the lower ones –inferiors-, causing a social problem that have lasted centuries around
the world. Other way of define racism, it is the discrimination, prejudice …show more content…
They tend to arrest Black people just because they are known mostly for their robberies,
Latinos because of the drug stereotype. In both cases, these people get a criminal record that
hurts their professional lives. Muslim women tend to be looked as terrorist just because they
wear a headscarf. They think they are going to shoot or bomb a place just because they are
Muslim. Crimes committed against Native Americans usually go unpunished. Moreover, Police

This article is based on the march that took place at Central Park, New York City,
America. It describes 299 different organizations silently protesting against the policy of
stop and frisk from the New York Police Department (NYPD). The NYPD have been
performing searches on people with no apparent reason, and most of those searched
were Black and Latinos. At the end of the article, the author states that the stop and
frisk policy must end and a great resistance must be built in order to accomplish this.
The contribution that this protest made is that many different people from all racial
backgrounds are standing up for the cause which in turn speaks to more than just
colored communities and countries, but to all the different counties and communities
around the world. This source will provide depth and personal views of this issue from
persons that have had first-hand experience which helps to understand and analyse this
social problem.
