One important way you can overcome prejudice is that you must learn about the different views on gender, size, wealth, and race more closely. You must have direct contact with the out group and find a common ground. Another way you can reduce prejudice and discrimination is by equal status contact. Equal status contact is when you and all the other groups are in the same situation and do not have a higher authority. This helps reduce prejudice so that personal insolvent because you must interact and cooperate with each other. An example of Equal status contact is a study called the "Robber's Cave. In this experience two different social groups had to work together in conflict. As a result of working together they were able to cooperate with out conflict, prejudice or discrimination.
Another way to reduce prejudice is through the process of a Jigsaw classroom. In a Jigsaw classroom a group people with mixed abilities or statuses work together to complete a specific goal or task. This Jigsaw classroom is effective because each person has a piece of the puzzle and the goal or task would not be completed unless you work together. This helps people see that they need each
