My expectations from this course at the beginning of the quarter were to learn about different nutrition intervention programs around the world and the effective were these. I also expected to be able to use information learned from this course in my personal life as well as in my professional life in the health field. Finally, I also expected to learn about nutrition-related problems that I was not aware at the beginning of this course.

Previously, I thought that one way was to educate people about nutrition. More specifically about why and how to make adequate nutrition choices. I still think this but I also think that health education is important. The influence of marketing and advertising is big in the US and abroad, that there needs to be an involvement of the industry, public health and health care systems, and governments to provide the people with accurate information, to educate people and to develop nutritious and affordable food for people who are low-income. As described on Week six lecture, we should ensure that all Americans have access to nutrient-rich food and opportunities for safe physical activity, while people globally should also have these opportunities and access. A supportive environment and the resources, in this case, healthy and accessible food, would remove barriers and help and motivate individuals to shape their existing attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors and to alleviate the inadequate nutrition problems around the
