Nutrition Reflection
The definition of nutrition is ¨the process of providing or obtaining the food necessary for health and growth.” Before this unit I didn’t understand what nutrition was. To me it was just eating the 2,000 calories a day, getting exercise, and eating foods from every food group. After this unit I learned that nutrition is much more than that. There are many parts that go into how we get our nutrients, and how we need to stay healthy. Some major things that go into it are; our daily diet, exercise, fat, hunger, and the labels on our food. By getting a better idea about these main subjects; I learned that you can improve your diet, and have a healthier life.

It really made me curious as to what is really in my food. From looking at my two week log I found that most foods are very high in sodium, fat, and sugar. For example we are only suppose to be getting 36 g of sugar each day, and if I go to a fast food restaurant one day, along with my regular meals; I am getting over 100g of sugar. That 's almost three times as much sugar that I should be getting. I found that my main meals, are mostly because I am hungry. They are eaten at normal breakfast, lunch, and dinner times when I am expected to be hungry. Nonetheless, my snacks can very. Some days I am eating maybe two, but then others there can be four which leds into the comfort food category. From the video I learned that these small things which we do lead to obesity, and eventually the obesity of the next generation before they are even born. To change this habit I should only eat foods when I am hungry, and not because I am bored, and want comfort food. Which is what I am starting to
