My learning for the training sessions was mainly through the BOOK TITLE HERE as well as various internet websites regarding the different types of assessment and which worked best for different candidates or environments.
Topics included, but were not limited to:
• Strengths and limitations of different assessment methods
• Initial assessment, how to undertake initial assessment and what problems can be encountered if good initial assessment is not completed
• What Formative assessment is
• What summative assessment is
• Holistic assessment and what problems may be encountered if holistic assessment is not used
• The risks that may arise during the assessment process and how to minimise them
• Standardisation procedures and practices
• What records have to be completed for each assessment

I felt that I was able to build on their foundation and introduced a theory assessment to the practical, so another method of assessment was in place to enable a better understanding of a candidates learning. This was the major strength of my practice. One weakness was that pass/fail marks were not strictly adhered to and this must be fully taken into consideration for next time. On the one hand, certain safety oriented tasks will require a pass mark of 100%. However, as part of the standardisation processes other tasks may be able to be determined as not requiring such a high pass mark next time. Overall this has greatly enhanced the assessment of
