Teaching is a strange act in which you not only help others learn, but you learn yourself. In fact, Ben Sweetland once said "We cannot hold a torch to light another's path without brightening our own." He was right.
This final report was created to give reflective information about some aspects that were related to the intermediate practicum that I realised as a pre-service teacher at Diego Velázquez School. It has been written in first person as a way to show a personal look of what was an activity more than revealing.
In addition, it includes some details of what was expected at the beginning of the practicum and what was the result at the end of it.

I knew I had to give instructions and to manage the classroom appropriately so I could complete all the tasks planned. But due to problems that are detailed below, this could not be fully implemented.
Classroom management
Implementing strategies for classroom management is intended to improve and increase academic engagement. And my most important job is perhaps “to create the conditions in which learning can take place” (Scrivener, 2005, p. 79). In terms of classroom climate, the establishment generally provides an adequate environment for teaching English, both by teachers and by the resources or ICTs that help this process.
Regarding teaching an 11th grade, I can say that it was not difficult. Fortunately, the class was receptive and willing to participate. However, there were moments where I lost control over the class, mainly because students were not paying enough attention or they were talking too much.
