Matthew 8:1-4 NIV
1When Jesus had come down from the mountain, great crowds followed him; 2 and there was a leper who came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you choose, you can make me clean.” 3 He stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I do choose. Be made clean!” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 4 Then Jesus said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

I can image that he was lonely, looked down upon, and accused of committing the worst sin that anyone could commit. We learn from the Old Testament in the book of Leviticus 13 that anyone with leprosy was to be put outside the camp and declared unclean. His only hope was Jesus. The text does not point out how long he had leprosy. It does not point out any family member or anybody trying to help this man, because of the disease being deadly. He was not allowed close to anyone and could not be touched. He believed that Jesus was the one to fix his problem. In believing he ran to Jesus by faith. His belief in Jesus demonstrated faith in Christ. He had faith that Jesus could save him from death. This is the same faith that the world need to be saved from their sin. This is the same faith each one of us here today need to be saved from our sins. This man was confessing that Jesus could make him whole. This man was believing in his heart that Jesus could fix his situation. What about you today do you believe Jesus can fix your situation? Do you believe Jesus can save your soul? The Bible says confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead and you will be saved. There was a little boy demon possessed and they brought him to Jesus. Jesus asked how long has he been like this? And his father said, “From childhood.
