In the Novel “Username: Evie” written by Joe Sugg there are many examples of language features and text structure. The book Username: Evie is a moving book that represents how in today’s society there is an escalation of bullying and everyone’s trying to find an escape. For Evie that was a video games her dad made for her before he died. In the novel there is a significant representation of true family dynamics, teamwork, hatred and romance. It has a dramatic colour scheme and is very eye catching. In my essay I will be talking about how techniques are used to draw the reader in and keep them engaged. I will also discuss how bullying can be portrayed and how it effects Evie.
In the novel Username: Evie there is an effective representation of symbolic codes the one that stood out for me was the clothing technique. In the first half of the book Evie is portrayed by her clothing as a nerd and a weirdo. For example her clothing in the first half of the book is colloquial and she is the only one wearing that clothing except Lionel. It had great techniques and it really included the audience and had parts that people of any age can relate to and enjoy. In addition all the techniques added to make it a pleasant book to read. The colour where well picked for the scenes they were placed in and helped to set the mood. And likewise the rendering also contributed to the kind of feel the certain page was trying to make you feel. The body language kept you on the end of your seat where you could see anger forming between characters or love forming it kept you wondering. Lastly the text boxes that continued to change depending what was happening in that particular section of the box. And because of all that it was a quick and easy book to get through and one that more people should
