Since the establishment of the Roman Republic in 509 BC to about the 4th century AD Roman Architecture covers this period. After that period this architecture was reclassified as Late Antique or Byzantine architecture. No proper architect example survived from before 100 BC, and the majority of survivals are from the later empire, after about 100 AD. Roman architectural style kept contiuning its influence over building architecture in the former empire for several centuries, and the architecture style used in the Western Europe starts about 1000 and is refered to as Romanesque architecture to reflect the main idea of architecture was in Roman forms.
