Step 2: Decide Whether or Not to Remove Your Old Roof
Installing your replacement roof over top of your existing one saves time, money and landfill space. Unfortunately, doing so will sometimes add more weight to the roof than the structure beneath it will support. It is also true that if your bubbles, lumps and imperfections in your existing roof will be transferred to the new roof if they are not repaired. Only a qualified roofing contractor can determine whether or not you have the option of installing a new roof over an old one.
Step 3: Haggle
Your roofing contractor needs to pay his crew and feed his family, but you have bills to pay too. There is often quite a bit of wiggle room in the cost of roofing materials so don’t be afraid to negotiate with your contractor for a better price. You can often save a bit of money while still paying a fair price for the materials that will make your
