Political ideology is a person’s personal beliefs about what the government should do and how it should function. My mother identifies with conservative political ideology. She believes that the federal government needs to reform its tax system. It needs to not fund certain things such as Obamacare and other things that are funded by the taxpayers. She also believes that the government needs to take the tax burden off of small businesses. She says there are three main reasons that influenced her to become a Republican. The first was that her parents were Republicans. She said that influenced her but was not the deciding factor for her. She said her second reason was when she started working she decided to learn about both parties. She used the means of television and radio to help her understand both platforms to make an informed decision. She said that the lense of her worldview she was able to decide on a party.
