Life unfolds many mysteries one being someone people who come into the lives of others as an angel. Did you meet anyone like that in your life? Mini a small girl was one for a Kabuliwala called Rahim. Kabuliwala is a story written during the early 20th century showing the difference of opinions about caste, character and personality. Rabindranath by using Mini and an Afghan Kabuliwala Rehmun, portrays how society labels the people, how Mini being innocent enough was unable to understand the norms of her surroundings. Thus culture and socio-strata has been portrayed to show how it was back then and helps compare the present day scenario.

They are rather amused at the newly discovered secretes of life. Like Mini due to her age was not burdened by any sense of difference. She rather is very naïve. On the other hand her father is grown and knows about the differences labeled on each person by the society norm. Thus he resorts to a decision of ignoring to tell her about the different rules of the society. He wants Mini not to feel burdened by any norm and enjoy her childhood “One morning, however, not many days later, as I was leaving the house…"Oh, Mini! How could you take it from him?" ” In the above quoted lines we see the nature of a foreigner (the Kabuliwala), that he was a kind person, a humble man. He accepts what he is given but also shows of being friendly enough to befriend a girl of the age of Mini. Though there is a huge difference in the cultures this story tells us that no matter what comes by friends can be made with anyone. On the other hand Mini’s mother seems to be influenced by more of a mob mentality. Kabuliwala was a poor trader but was also a father. Mini’s father took a bit long to understand this fate of his but when he does he did the needful. No matter how one act’s in different points of life, he/she needs to also look at others and understand others actions. Thus bringing Mini even after people opposing was a right decision.
According to some people like Antara Moitra says “Tagore was a genius when it came to expressing the nuances of how people act or feel in different situations.
