Athletes are good role models they have the power and following to reach out and give voice to people or topics that go unnoticed. Athletes have the ability to gather and give resources that others can not. they have or are still chasing dreams which others can see and can use as inspiration to do the same. JJ Watt helps with multiple charities through the JJ Watt Foundation. One supports after school opportunities for middle schools so kids can learn good character traits. Has donated $3,846,852 just in 2018 alone and has spread that money out between 15 different schools allowing them to buy the proper protective equipment for all sports. Another charity helped support hurricane Harvey relief providing food, time, and money to communities in and around Houston. Originally setting out to raise $200,000 but in a short time reached that goal kept going and was able to provide 37 million dollars to go towards relief efforts in Houston.
