Halloween or formally known as Samhain was an ancient Celtic tradition that indicated the first of November and this tradition was started before the 14th century. Not only did the Celts believe that spirits and demons could flow into the world of the living during Samhain, but as time went on, people began to see how immoral using human sacrifices were, instead, they used black cats as the sacrifices. Soon the Celts began to associate the black cat with evil and believed black cats were bad luck. When speaking of the superstition of black cats, many people begin to ruminate about witches. During the Celts time witches were thought to appear during Samhain because they celebrated the Sabbath of the Witches where it 's the best night to cast their spells.
