Sir Gawain show that he has heroism several times in the poem. One example was at the very beginning of the poem when the Green Knight challenges Sir Gawain to take the First lick, ¨Gawain stepped to the stranger, axe in the hand, and he, never fearing awaited his coming¨. He is still a human, and he gets tempted a few times in the poem. One of the few times you see Sir Gawain has a human. Is when he is going back to meet the Green Knight, and he need a place to stay. The host of the castle was nice to let him stay. The fair lady of the cattle tries to get Gawain to like her, but he does not like her. At her last attempted to get Gawain to like her. She¨Then she took her leave of him, and when she was gone Sir Gawain arose, and clad him in rich attire, and took the girdle, and knotted it round him, and hid it beneath his robes” .( pg 6) Sir Gawain was scared about the fight with the Green Knight, so he takes the sash from the fair lady.
