I. Population:
a. In the 1640’s The West Indies had a large quantity of African slaves which allowed a population boom to occur. The ratio of white to black was 1:4. Now the region is particularly of the black race.
II. In Virginia 1607, the settlers evicted the Powhatan tribe from their homes and many years later predicted all tribe members to be dead.
III. Charles -Town became known as the common port to attend in the south region
