Have you ever thought about social media? How it can put things out there that aren’t true? Did you know that 57% of social media users are lied to? If social media was secure for kids and teens, then this wouldn't happen. Social media is appalling for young kids because it causes cyberbullying, lower academic grades, and lots of safety issues. First off, social media can cause cyberbullying, which can lower kids self-confidence and more. When kids gossip, sometimes it is not fully true, and words can be tweaked and changed, this can hurt someone's feelings. Still, some kids don’t tell anyone that they are getting bullied and it just gets unacceptable. Furthermore, cyberbullies can get personal information to use against someone through social media. As you can see, as a result of cyberbullying on social media feelings get hurt, kids are deprived, and so much more. Secondly, social media can cause lower academic grades and lower …show more content…
Among the kids today, 75% of kids will reply to messages, even if they don’t know who the person is. Sometimes, they will even give out personal information such as their name, phone number, or the school they go to. Also, lies are told all of the time and when you are younger, you are more vulnerable to believe these lies. Therefore, social media is very unsafe and hazardous because of these three very important points. As a result, there are safety issues, cyberbullying, and academic problems with social media. Spread of information and gossiping leads to cyberbullying. Then there is grades, which drop because kids think social media is more important than school and work. Finally, social media is very unsafe and insecure to dangers of the internet. What do you think about social media for you, your kids, family, and friends after reading this?
