If a scientist is to make soap that is unusable on animals, then, it is useless especially in an oil spill. The soaps need to be easily able to lather so that it can spread across the surface smoothly in order to clean a large surface area while using minimal soap. The group tested the cleaning ability of the soaps and detergents by mixing them with an olive oil and water solution to determine which soap broke down the most amount of the olive oil. In the experiment, only the olive oil soap broke down the olive oil. The least effective cleanser was the soap made from the vegetable oil. They found from the titration of the wastewater that the olive oil soap will be the least harmful substance to use due to the fact that it only needed 99 drops of HCl whereas the rest needed significantly more drops. The simplicity of neutralizing the olive oil soap makes it proper for environmental use because it can be titrated without having to use a large quantity of acidic solution. From all of these tests, it can be concluded that the olive oil soap is the best option to use in case of an oil
