Star-fire burned Frost’s tail. She whipped it out of the flame. The huge night dragon behind her roared in anger as she breathed her frozen fire and hit him. She dived down, seeing a narrow tunnel where the night dragon would not fit. She would be there in three, two, one. . . . Smash!
Frost jumped awake and was confused. Where was she? She heard a growl and realized she was in the tunnel and had smashed into a wall. She glided through the tunnel slowly, so she didn’t hit another wall.
After what felt like hours, the tunnel sloped up, and Frost flew into the sky.

Her heart sank when she saw a whole group of night dragons behind him. “Give us the egg,” said one.
“Never!” screamed Frost.
Frost scratched any dragon she could, but it wasn’t enough. She was pressed backwards until her foot touched the egg. Warmth flowed from her leg to the rest of her body, turning her purple. She breathed fire, and it made all the night dragons flee—all but one: the huge one that she had fought with a week ago. She growled with hate and her eyes narrowed. He opened his wings, and blue spread through him. Frost blinked in surprise. Suddenly, the ground opened below them and swallowed them into another tunnel.
Apparently, one of each kind of dragon could change colour. Starshade, a night dragon, and Frost were now joined by the other two: Sky, a wind dragon; and Firefly, a life dragon. They all had powerful fire.
Frost, Starshade, Sky, and Firefly flew out of the tunnel. They were going to try to save the ice dragons. Frost flew into the air and spun around quickly. All of the spikes were now so thick at the bottom that it would be hard to break through. Then she dived into battle. She was a good fighter, and soon, the battle was
