Hardworking, trustworthy, selfless, determined, and helpful… I believe that I have demonstrated these qualities exceptionally throughout my high school career. A glimpse at my exquisite grades that I have kept in four years of challenging classes reveals not only my effort, but my endless determination as well. Despite all of the energy that I directed towards my own success at school, I was always willing to help others who struggled in their classes, especially in math and science. Also, I put time and effort into my extracurricular activities in order to benefit my school’s community. I painted a mural of the Mt. Hope Bridge to beautify a conference room, helped plan countless events for the entire student body, from spirit weeks to…
Hi Future me, I'm finally in High School and is feels different being in a high school where we are on the computers mostly all day but it feels better than writing things on paper all the time. I want to get better grades than I did when I was at my old charter school. High School is way different than being in a charter school. My goal is to get good grades and get all my credits. My head is focused on getting good grades and being the best I can in high school.…
High school is the transition between middle school and college, thus it is a significant point in a student's’ academic career. It is a time where students have to use more effort and new habits are set, so skills like organization will be crucial in college. Looking back, I can reflect on my high school years and conclude there are various things one should yield for consideration. Therefore, there are a few recommendations that I can suggest to someone starting their high school career. Middle school was the time of one’s educational career where homework was a heavy influence on grades.…
My high school career at Edgewood would all change the moment of my freshman year would I found out devastating news that changed me to become the disciplined student I am today . The end of the year was coming up fast and that was around the time that everyone came in to schedule their classes for the next year . Each individual homeroom was called one by one, then my class was called everyone went down the the library to see the consular Mrs. Richter. Sitting there patiently my name was called ¨Alex Couch ¨ She said.…
Though I am not even half way through my high school career, I feel as if I can still be a help to those who are just beginning. High school is probably the most important part of your life that you are responsible for in our teenage years, so it is important not to mess it up. There are a few concepts that I have figured out by myself that I wished someone would have told me. Those of which include never procrastinate, think about your future, learn how to manage your time, and do not settle for less than your best. My first recommendation is that you don’t procrastinate.…
When making decisions, you don't always know whether or not you've made the right one immediately. I was deciding on which high school I wanted to attend; I chose to go to public school, even though I had previously gone to private school. Why would a kid choose to go from a class of 24 to a brand new school with 1700 kids without knowing anyone? That sounds crazy to me, but my 14 year-old self thought that it would be just fine.…
Background and Education Plans The end, or reason, for my life is something that had intrigued me early in life. As a child, I began to consider the origins of my name and learned that “Alexis” was derived from the ancient Greek word Alexos – which means, “to defend.” Through personal experiences and contemplation, I have made it my firm conviction that the end, or purpose, of my life is to defend and be of service to the people. My career objectives include completing my Bachelor’s degree (Honors) in Chemistry at Manchester University; serving as a commissioned officer in the US Armed Forces; pursuing admittance into a MD-Ph.D. or DO-Ph.D. program; and practicing as a research physician.…
college for a great occupation. No I am not sure what the occupation will be and I should probably figure it out since I only have two more years of high school left, but I am going to wing it and hope for the best because if you do not have faith in yourself you will not get anywhere. Always believe in yourself even when you are at your lowest.…
I am personally intrested in gettting the most out of the program as posible. With my time in highschool i activly seek out new expriences, because there is always something to be gained, even if thinhgs dont go as planed. I started out my freshman year thinking that i would play soccer my whole highschool career. That did not happen, for many different reasons i did not continue sophmore year, but from playing i gained many new friendships and i also learned how to walkaway from something that i may love but is not the best for me. This year i was a part of my schools speech and debate team, from this i learned that natural talent will get you no where and that if you really want something you have to work for it, i quallified to states and…
Throughout my school career before high school, I was not challenged often. For the majority of middle and elementary school I made all A’s and never had a problem. However, when I first started high school, I found a little bit of a challenge. Teachers became a lot less constructive and caring, and became more roboting and focused, which was strange and new to me, considering I came from a smaller middle school, with tiny classes. At some points in my freshman year, I got slightly stressed out in classes, because I am a person who likes to ask questions and get exact and definite answers.…
Through the duration of my High School career, I have prided myself on my grades, GPA, and overall academic record. I feel they accurately represent my dedication and responsibility as a student. Although having taken many challenging Pre-AP, and AP courses I kept my grades up while participating in extracurricular activities and community service. Class Rank has been the only area that I feel does not accurately represent me as a student. Coming from a graduating class of almost 1,000 students, and a very academically competitive High School, my class rank at Flower Mound might not be equal to what it could be at another school.…
At this point in my life, I am uncertain of the career I would like to pursue. I am currently enrolled as First Year Life Science student with an intention of a major in biology. Like many students, I am uncertain if this is the major that I wish to graduate with. I find myself considering switching majors increasingly often: psychology, the Bachelor of Arts in Sciences (with an interdiscplinary focus in either psychology or sociology), and law are the other academic paths that that have interested me.…
When it comes to describing who I am, it is quite simple. I am the second oldest in my family. I am also a first-generation college graduate. I am an exceedingly ambitious person who always has plans for the future and know how I want to achieve those plans, but just do not have a way to do it. I had plans of a fashion magazine based in my hometown of Charlotte and even had people on board to support with layout, graphics and photography; nonetheless, I lacked the money and time to begin.…
My Calling and Purpose in Career Growing up I had the desire to be someone of significant importance. I remember wanting to initially be an obstetrician/gynecologist, then shortly after I had my son I realized the desire was not there anymore. I believe at first I wanted to become an obstetrician because I was experiencing something life altering that completely had my attention, pregnancy was an experience I lived daily for 40 weeks. In 2007, when my son was 3 years old my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.…
I 'll be the first to admit that I have absolutely no clue what I’m doing with my life. Most of the time, I wonder why I’m even paying roughly $25,000 a year just to get most of my general courses out of the way when I could go to a local branch of Ohio University for free. But then I remember one of the main reasons I chose Miami. I may not yet know what I’m doing or plan to major in, but Miami is a big school that presents a large variety of opportunities for me to explore and find my dream career path.…
