The narrator picks Sheila over the Bass. The narrator picked Sheila because he only had one chance with her and he can always catch another big fish some other time. Sheila is is an young adult and is very beautiful, she is the one everyone knows. Sheila is a girl everyone wants the older and younger men want just like the narrator. If he got her he would be popular, in love and he would be going to all these amazing parties. Sheila is a significant person and he didn't want to lose a chance with the one he loved. But then when he took the chance and cut the line from the fishing pole and let the fish. While they were at the concert they had some fun but then when she said she is going home with Eric Caswell he knew that they didn’t feel the same way. She rejected him. After a month he was over her but he regrets letting the fish go, the fish would have been a good impact of his love in fishing. That same thing happened to me but it involved me being lazy and missing my future of basketball. I was tired and i had practice that night and i said “ I can just skip one cause i need to rest” but really missing one day was a big impact in my basketball career. Yes, resting is good, but I could have done that throughout the day. I went home and rested instead of staying after school and just practicing one hour. The next day we had a game and my coach
