This week, I finished reading a book called The Beginner’s Bible. It was ridiculous and absurd for me that the progress of reading the book, because I was a atheist completely. In the book, almost every story talked about God and his disciple. Besides, everyone should believe in God and be in awe of him. Otherwise, they would be punished fiercely and chose to believe in God at last. But in fact, as we all known, there was no God. Therefore, I didn’t understand the true meaning of the book at all when I finished it for the first time.

In ancient times, people were in awe of nature. But now, people destroy nature severely. As a result, many rare wild animals had become extinct, because their living environment was gravely destroyed. What’s more, all kinds of pollution became much heavier. For example, there were severe smog in Beijing and other large cities in recent years. Obviously, these results also were harmful to men’s survival and development. Consequently, people must stop to improve the environment and get on well with various kind of animals. In other words, people shouldn’t think that people could conquer nature so that they could get everything which only was good for them and didn’t care other beings.
Above all, I thought that people should awe every living individual and great nature.
However, it didn’t mean that people should be afraid of all beings, and stop the step of development. Instead, people should go on developing their technology meanwhile protecting nature and all beings very well. For example, the technology which people continued developing must be beneficial for the environment. In my opinion, the sense of awe also meant a feeling of sympathy and selfless spirit. As the saying said, “Do not do to others what you would not have them do to you do as you would be done by”.
