The Struggle In Frances Goodrich's The Diary Of Anne Frank

All heroes have struggles

Anne Frank is a historical reminder of what has happened in the past. She is also an inspiration for the generation raising. As an eighth grader at Red Hill Lutheran school I along with all of my classmates read The Diary of Anne Frank the play, written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett. The Diary of Anne Frank the play is about a Teen who grew up during World War II. Jews were killed, exterminated and sent to work camps. Anne Frank went into hiding at age thirteen along with seven other people. Anne Frank and her family were met with the Van peels, and another guest who was not expected named Mr. Dussel. When Mr. Dussel joins the Franks and the Van peels in the annex he is very unexpected. They had taken the Jews from his part of the country and sent them to camps. He had to go into hiding so that he may live through the war. At the time Margot and Anne were sharing a room, but Margot moved into her parents room and Anne had to share a room with Mr. Dussel. Because Margot is too old to be sharing a room with a man. Anne finds difficult to share her because he is always hogging it, and as Anne says in The Diary of Anne Frank the play “…. He is always messing with my things.” And then there is Margot her sister. Anne is always comparing her to her older sister, who she thinks is prettier. In The Diary of Anne Frank the play Anne asks Margot, “ Margot am I terribly ugly?” Anne Frank also has Problems with her mother , like all teenagers do. Anne wants to grow up, but her mother has a different plan she wants to treat her like a baby forever. This leads to many fights over maturity and lots of little rebellious acts.
