Being a Solider in the United States Army sets the professions within apart. This is possible because Soldiers are willing and able to put their lives on the line. This is an example of responsibilities tasked to them. Just a few responsibilities of a Human Resources Sergeant include the following: awards, promotions, and cutting orders. Getting orders cut for the military Soldier, so that they can get to their duty site, Noncommissioned Officer Education System, schools, and many more. This takes a mentality and courage that not everyone possesses.

Throughout this time the Army has changed multiple times. The Human Resources Soldier as well as their peers have adapted to these changes, many of which will continue to change over time.
