The biggest impact that we have today is air pollution which is mainly caused by fossil fuel emissions. Air pollution can result from both human and natural actions. Impacts that are done by …show more content…
An average Canadian generates approx. 1.95 KG of waste per day. That’s 0.75 Kg higher than the average back in 1960. So where does this all go ? Approximately 55% of 220 million tons of waste generated each year which ends up in of the landfills around the country. Landfills are a large piece of land kept away from living places where all junk and garbage of the city is deposited. As years go by, these landfill soon becomes full, smelly and the worst leaking toxins from trash into the ground causing a great impact on the environment. It’s time to change, time to think of ways we as individual could help reduce our waste when we shop, work and play. There’s tons of ways we could help contribute but here’s couple that I believe should start off with and then work our way up to Waste Free. Before I lay them out , let’s take a look inside our waste bin , try to find some sort of waste that couldn’t have not ended up there for example, use ceramic plates at home instead of disposable spoons and paper plates. Bring reusable bags and containers when shopping, travelling , or even packing lunches. It’s pretty shocking to read the facts that we humans as global use from 500 billion to 1 trillion plastic bags annually and that each plastic bag takes 100 years to decompose while leaving all the toxic behind forever. But one the other hand, the use of reusable bag not only are they less harming to the …show more content…
Non- renewable energy is energy that generates from fossil fuels ( natural gas, coal, crude oil), they were formed over 300 million years ago when earth looked completely different with swampy seas and forest. There are significant effects when fossil fuel are burned for example carbon dioxide, which traps heat in the earth atmosphere affecting global climate change. Scientist at GCSCT (Global Climate Science Communication Team) predict that if carbon dioxide levels continue to increase, Earth will become warmer within the next century causing sea-level to rise due the warming and melting of glacier harming not only us but as well with animals who depend on such needs. Don’t you think we should do something about it ? That’s where renewable energy comes in. Renewable energy is energy that exist infinitely for example sun, water, or even wind. Their energy such as the sun can be used to generate electricity which could easily run a family house and be cheaper than other source of electricity . By doing this, not only are we creating absolutely no to really low carbon emission, making it environment friendly. So how could we contribute towards this change, it’s really simple. Many companies, from automobile industries to manufacturing industries all starting to invent environmental friendly product to help contribute. One great example is, the Nissan Leaf , an 100% electric vehicle creating absolutely
