The United States have taken giant strides in the direction of eliminating discrimination. Especially in the last 70 years. In 1954 The Supreme Court ruling on the landmark case Brown v. Board of Education, unanimously agreeing that segregation in public schools is unconstitutional. The ruling was an incredible stride in the right direction towards getting rid of segregation. Another major change happened in 1964 when President Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. I also believe that Social Media has a lot to do with issue. However, if local news went back to focusing on informing people of the truth and not to promote their own personal vendettas and instigating, this would bring awareness to real social problems that exist today that many people know nothing about. This would also bring people together and allow people of all races to realize how alike we all
