Non-formal speech becomes extremely hard to follow, so talking this way is usually used with close friends and family. The reason for that is because it’s riddled with slang and emotions specific to it so that the speaker could differentiate themselves to a specific interest group. The best example of this is in music lyrics, and one man that excels at it is a rapper named Snoop Dogg, who has contributed more to non-formal speech than any one person to date. When it’s written out in text messages words are usually abbreviated. Almost anybody these days has a story of when one of their friends sent them a text message and all could can send back was a “what?” those messages have heaps of abbreviations like lol, re feeling. This abbreviated talk also includes its own interest group, following a young demographic. It’s come to be known as a shortened way to write, but also has a bad rep for being the least punctual way to write. As for books or biographies written word really is a thing of beauty, the author is able to give every bit of who they are without ever meeting the reader. Some books use the slang that’s best known to the author and throughout their stories, they help the reader understand why they speak the way they do and teach the reader their way
