He became one of the first photographers for Life Magazine, he took over 2500 photos and had about 90 cover photos with Life Magazine. His most famous is the V-J photo. It was after the announcement that World War 2 was over and we were the victors over Japan. World War 2 took place globally from 1939-1945. The war began with the Soviet pushing Poland out of the east. Poland did not last long which made it easy for Germany and the Soviet to have power over the nation.
