The title of Hillsborough High School teacher of the year was awarded to Tracy Jameson, a special education and environmental science teacher, on February twelfth due to “her passion as an educator and contagious positive energy,” said Sharon Jacob, a member of Peers Assistant Leadership Students (PALS). “I would describe Ms. Jameson as loving. Someone who is there to support all of your ideas and help with your problems both with life and school. She lights up any room she walks into,” said Matthew Roarty, her former student. “Awesome. She is eternally happy,” Karen Bingert, the principal at Hillsborough High School describes Ms. Jameson as “eternally dedicated to her students and willing to joyfully do whatever she needs to do for whatever they need to be successful.”
According to Kimberly Lahart, coworker of Jameson and a special education teacher, “Ms. Jameson is a teacher who cares deeply about her students. She has the ability to form a special bond with all of students,” Lahart said. “ I see this …show more content…
“It’s been a long time. The earliest name I have on file is 2001. Probably at least 20 years if not more. The program has changed a little over the years. The schools gives out this award every year,” stated Bingert.
The winner, Jameson, received numerous gifts and awards for receiving the title of “teacher of the year,” added Bingert. “The winner received flowers, balloons, an announcement to the teachers staff and student body, recognition at a board meeting, and a dedicated parking spot with a sign that displays “teacher of the year.” The winner of the 2018 teacher of the year will receive “a plaque this year.”
The teacher of the year is expected to be an “exceptionally skilled and dedicated licensed classroom teacher” who is respected and admired by all faculty and students according to New Jersey Department of
