This is used to help an individual with Dissociative Identity Disorder gain more information about his/her symptoms and identity states, therefore increasing control over those states when a change occurs from one personality state to another. This is said to happen by enhancing the communication that each aspect of the person’s identity has with the others. As previously stated, the smooth flow of all characteristics of the individual’s personality is crucial for treatment to be a success.
