Christof is a crucial example of the immorality which is represented throughout the film. During the course of the television show, Christof continuously neglects the special moments and individual feelings felt by Truman by presenting this to the viewers of the show. The director expresses big ideas seen in todays society. The main one, the disrespect for one’s rights and freedom. This is established when Christof organizes the dramatic death of Truman’s father, ending with Truman being traumatically scarred for life, just for the entertainment of the audience and to scare Truman from going to any ends of the island, the ocean. Another big idea is the immoral behavior when christof acts as a God-like character when Truman attempts to escape. This results in Christof controlling the weather to the extent of nearly risking Truman’s own life. Truman is thrown overboard the small boat, facing his biggest fear of Seas.
