An Unbroken Silence
INTRODUCTION
In the 20th century, the most notorious genocide ever to have taken place occurred in Europe under the rule of the Nazis. The holocaust marked the genocide of six million Jews.
Genocide is a mass killing of a group of people that results in thousands of deaths and fatalities. In the span of 100 days in 1994, “800,000 men, women, and children perished in the Rwandan genocide, perhaps as many as three quarters of the Tutsi population” (“Genocide in Rwanda”). Most genocides take place due to political differences, ethnic clashes, and or historical tensions between two or more ethnic groups.
