Violence causes characters to make irrational and unreasonable decisions. "But I can give thee more, For I will raise her statue in pure gold, That whiles Verona by that name is known, There shall no figure at such rate be set As that of true and faithful Juliet." "As rich shall Romeo’s by his lady’s lie, Poor sacrifices of our enmity!" (3.5 314-320). These quotes between Lord Montague and Lord Capulet show that violence is not justified through the play because both Montague and Capulet are realizing that their children are dead because of their hatred for one another, and they do not want to have any more violence because of the future deaths that might occur if they continue to fight. Both Montague and Capulet see that their violence and hatred is for no true reason, and instead of fighting one another they should be friends and not foes.
