The big events in Vietnam in 1664 were the Gulf of Tonkin that allowed the U.S to have operations in Vietnam without called to declared war. And the United States bombing the Saigon. The PLAF hit the U.S military base at Pleiku in 2/7/1965. The base was damaged and President Johnson send a bomb strike, Flaming Dart, at the north Vietnam military based on 17th Parallel.
