Many of the books of the Bible are devoted entirely to the teachings of God. The most famous example is probably the Gospels of Jesus. All four Gospels are teachings from Jesus himself to anyone who chooses to listen. To help people understand things more, Jesus would often teach in parables. I cherish these parables because they show special meaning through masterful storytelling. One of my favorites – The parable of the lost son – tells of God's unfailing love for us even when we mess up badly. But perhaps the most important thing is that those who read the Bible find comfort and joy in the hardest and lowest points of life. We often think we are alone to deal with the hardships of life.
