This is a tool that can keep individuals with skill in the company and pull in other individuals to strengthen the workforce. One using their abilities and skills to better the company through a promoted or higher level job creates a sense of motivation within. Criteria for individuals to be promoted within the company should stem from a set objective list. The list must allow for low end positions to high end positions to be filled under the same guidelines of work performance. Recommendation from department heads, and work samples should be used to evaluate performance of the individual while keeping an unbiased approach to the hiring process. Internal recruitment can be very effective, however, ensuring the promotion of the correct individuals is the difference between positive change, and possible failure (Noe et.al. 2013). In all, Harold Sweeney needs to change the mentality of the Electric Applications Corporation. With this mentality change the organization can see great growth and development with changes made by Harold along the way.
