The “Academy of Management Research” publishes four journals about issues in business and education. The journal is purposeful for those who are interested in the practical applications of business and industrial research. Its mission is to support those people. Calvano expressed that there can be multiple weaknesses when constructing business management research. “Findings are sometimes devalued, others do not find them as scientific and they tend to have a bias” (Calvano). She continued to say that there is an over reliance on statistical data in the business management field, which is not always valued. Companies do not bear full control on external factors that influence data and data is constantly evolving. Furthermore, Dr. Calvano says, “there is a lack of importance of qualitative research”. Quantitative research is the more favored classification of research in the field, which means that digits and statistics are preferred before recognition of opinions or motivations. Dr. Calvano focuses on qualitative research and she enjoys researching immensely. In fact, she says that she would like to do it more often. She carries out her research “mostly in the summers, when there is more time to think and write” (Calvano). This is particularly common to most college professors who revel in doing research, but do not have the time during their engrossed
