Reasons that Macbeth murders Banquo is because he senses that once he becomes the king, Banquo and his descendents will be “thrusts against my near’st of life” (III, i, line 134). Thus, in order to keep his status and eliminate his anxiousness, he chooses to kill Banquo. Later in the story, again, Macbeth decides to murder his brother-like friend Macduff , which is simply due to his lack of trust and a feeling of imperil that he has; even though he does not successfully murders Macduff, Macbeth ends Macduff’s family’s lives and his relatives. Through series of murdering and killing, Macbeth can get comfort and security because he thinks that no one can harm him and that nobody can take away his status and possessions. Compared with Macbeth, who was once just a prestigious General and being praised by every citizen, King Macbeth’s moral values and nature of human become totally vanished. Subsequently, many noble men in Scotland can no longer bear the cruel attitude of King Macbeth and thus leaves the country to find alternative routes.
