The secret and forbidden relationship Romeo and Juliet were brought about because of the family feud. If the two families were not enemies, Romeo and Juliet would’ve been able to marry without Tybalt acting as an obstacle. Likewise, if the feud did not exist, Friar Lawrence would’ve not have to devise a plan to help Romeo and Juliet be together. Furthermore, the two families created pressure towards Romeo and Juliet such as the arranged marriage, which caused them to make impulsive and impetuous decisions. This quote, “Where be these enemies? Capulet, Montague, See what a scourge is laid upon your hate, That heaven finds means to kill your joys with love…” shows that the rivalry between the two families led to a tragic consequence, which is the deaths of the two teenagers.
In conclusion, the death of Tybalt, Mercutio and the tragic suicide of Romeo and Juliet were all caused due to the vendetta between the two families, the Montagues and Capulet family.
